Location Name:  North Bank Park (Columbus, Ohio)

Location Type:  Park (City)

Year Opened:  2005

History:

North Bank Park was dedicated on 16 July 2005 along the north bank of the Scioto River. A relatively new park along the riverfront, North Bank joins the Olentangy and Scioto greenways and serves as the northern anchor of the Scioto Mile; a section of continuous parkland along downtown Columbus’ riverfront. Completed at a cost of $15,000,000, North Bank Park is situated on land that was once part of the Ohio Penitentiary. The stone veneer on the parks walls is from the old Penitentiary building itself. The twelve acre park offers some of the best views of the Columbus skyline; especially at night.
